Congratulations Ms. GarantArlene Garant Gets a Special Gift for 50 Years of Teaching Ms. Garant celebrates the news with some of her 1st grade students Arlene Garant, first grade teacher at Pope John Paul II, is celebrating 50 years of teaching, all in Catholic Schools! Through the school partnership with Exelon Corporation, Ms. Garant will be honored at a White Sox game where she will get to throw out the first pitch!
Ms. Garant is a huge White Sox fan and this will be a dream come true. She is very excited and hopes to meet Paul Konerko!

Congratulations First CommunicantsOn April 29th, 19 Pope John Paul II students received the sacrament of First Holy Communion. Mrs. Leszczewicz and her second grade class (along with a few older PJPII students) have been preparing for months for this special and holy event. Congratulations to all!
2012 Spelling BeeApril 26th was our annual spelling bee. Grades 1 - 8 participated. We have some superstar spellers at PJPII! Congratulations to all the winners!

PJPII Awarded a $10,000 Grant for STEM Instruction!Pope John Paul II Catholic School has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the Helen Brach Foundation. This grant focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) instruction. Teachers will begin to work on the school's STEM program over the summer and students will be involved in the 2012-2013 school year.
