Pope John Paul II School has begun the important task of educating its students in the basic curriculum of math, English, science, and social science. More importantly, the faculty of PJPII accepts the responsibility of educating its children in the areas of religion, ethics, and values for the faculty knows that the youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow. Through the grace of God, PJPII School will continue and prosper well into the 21st century!

Mission Statement

Pope John Paul II Catholic School is committed to provide an education that empowers the students spiritually and academically. The students will become active participants in their journey through faith and life-long learning.

Within the evangelizing mission of the Church and Parishes, Pope John Paul II Catholic School is called to teach as Jesus did by proclaiming God’s message, by building up Christian community and by serving others.

Pope John Paul II Catholic School, sponsored by the Brighton Park Catholic Parishes of Five Holy Martyrs, Immaculate Conception, Our Lady of Fatima and St. Pancratius serves a diverse, multi-cultural community of Preschool to Eighth Grade students.

School Philosophy

Pope John Paul II Catholic School provides a spiritual, academic, physical and social environment in which students recognize and accept the responsibility of learning in order to achieve their God-given potential.

Religious Dimension of the School: PJPII School provides a variety of faith experiences in order to instill a knowledge and appreciation of our Roman Catholic beliefs and traditions, fostering an attitude of Christ-like service to others.

How Students Learn: Students learn best when they are engaged in developmentally appropriate activities that stimulate them spiritually, intellectually and emotionally. These challenging activities will motivate self-esteem and desire to learn.

Curriculum Role: PJPII School curriculum focuses on the individual child: fostering positive self-concepts, acquiring basic skills, problem solving and critical thinking to become life-long learners.

Role of the Parent: PJPII School recognizes parents/guardians as the primary educators of the child. Parental involvement and cooperation in the learning process is necessary and vital.

Role of the Teacher: PJPII teachers work with parents as co-educators to provide students with the skills needed in all aspects of their life.

Role of the Student: Each student strives to become an educated, responsible member of their church, school and community.

Role of the School: PJPII School is responsible to provide a quality education and guide children in Christian doctrine, create a Christian community environment and instill a willingness of services to others.
