Overview
Established in 1999, when Five Holy Martyrs, Immaculate Conception, St.
Pancratius and Our Lady of Fatima combined to form Pope John Paul II Catholic
School. The school welcomes children ages 3-14 of all races, cultures
and religious beliefs. The student to teacher ratio is 22:1.
Education
Pope John Paul II School is committed to providing an education that empowers
the students spiritually and academically. The school is certified by
the Archdiocese of Chicago, the Illinois State Board of Education, and
our preschool is nationally recognized by National Association for the
Education of Young Children.
The preschool program provides a curriculum
and classroom environment that recognizes individual differences among
children, respects the cultural and linguistic diversity of each family,
and promotes each child’s unique spiritual, social and emotional
growth.
For students in grades kindergarten
through eighth grade, the school provides a well-rounded curriculum that
includes: reading, math, religion, English, spelling, science and social
studies. Students also participate in weekly Mass and daily classroom
prayer. The school provides preparation for First Reconciliation and First
Holy Communion in second grade and Confirmation in seventh grade.
Facilities
The school is located on the parish campus of Five Holy Martyrs and includes
20 classrooms, a computer lab, gym, library, lunchroom, and large community
room.
Extra-Curricular Activities
We offer a number of activities including dance, basketball, volleyball,
after-school math program, and arts and crafts.
Enrollment
Current enrollment is 230 students. Our student body includes young people
from a broad range of ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Schedule
Classes are held between 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
We also offer before-school care from 6:45 – 8:00 a.m. and after-school
care from 2:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Child care is also available from
noon until 6:00 p.m. on half days of school. Please check with the school

Meals
Students eat lunch in the cafeteria. They may bring a bag lunch or participate
in the hot lunch program. A cold breakfast and after-school snacks are
provided for students who participate in those programs.
