Acceptance Policy
It is the policy of our school to accept children according to the following
prioritized list:
1) Children of registered parishioners;
2) Children of non-registered Catholic families from other Catholic schools,
especially those that are
closing or merging;
3) Children of Catholic families transferring from public schools;
4) Children of non-Catholic families.
Admissions--Transfer Students
For the admission of a new or transfer student, parents shall present:
1) an official copy of the child's birth certificate;
2) a copy of the child's sacramental record;
3) a copy of the child’s social security card;
4) a record of compliance (medical and dental) with local
and State of Illinois health requirements;
5) a copy of the student's last report card (if applicable);
6) an official transfer form from the school previously attended (if applicable).
Upon written request from the receiving school, all
records from the previous school, including health records, shall be transferred.
Admission for transfer students is subject to receipt of records from
the previous school. In addition, transfer students are accepted on a
probationary basis contingent upon completeness of transfer records, cooperation
with disciplinary policies, and completion of assigned school work.
Admissions--Preschool/Kindergarten
According to state law, a child must be 5 years old by September 1st to
enter Kindergarten (3 or 4 years old by September 1 to enter PreSchool).
A student must also present a report of a recent medical examination and
a birth certificate to verify age. We do not encourage children born after
September 1st to enter Kindergarten. If a parent seeks early admission
for a child, the child may be tested only after regular registration has
taken place and only if there are openings in the Kindergarten class.
Younger children born before October 1st who demonstrate a readiness to
begin Kindergarten will be considered in chronological order of their
birth dates.
There is no early admission for 3 year old preschool.
