Faith & Character

We help your children grow in their faith, values and character.

  • Our graduates also take a strong faith with them to high school and beyond, building on the lessons learned at Pope John Paul II Catholic School to help them make the right life choices, including the choice to continue as lifelong Catholics.
  • Our students begin and end each school day with prayer, recognizing the central role that Jesus Christ plays in every moment of our lives.
  • Our students receive daily instruction in the tenets of their Catholic faith. 82% of our current full-time faculty is certified as catechists by the Archdiocese of Chicago.
  • Our students also participate in a variety of religious services including weekly Mass, weekly Eucharistic Adoration, and sacramental preparation for communion and confirmation. Additionally, students pray the Rosary weekly and have the opportunity to participate in confession. They also take part in various seasonal liturgies such as Stations of the Cross, May Crowning, etc.
  • As part of their religious formation, students perform service in the community as a means of giving back.
  • We also have the unique privilege of being the Parish school for the four Catholic parishes in Brighton Park: Five Holy Martyrs, Immaculate Conception, Our Lady of Fatima, and St. Pancratius.
Testimonial:

“I send my child to Pope John Paul II Catholic School to receive the spiritual upbringing he would not receive in a public school. In a way PJPII is the spiritual safe haven for our youth. The school helps us as parents to reinforce good values, faith in God, and values in oneself that our children would not otherwise receive in a public school environment.”
